Instructions fjdt_manual.pdf (38 KB) | This diagnostic tool is available for use by customers who feel their Fujitsu hard drive may not be operating normally. It is only designed for use with Fujitsu ATA/IDE hard drives. There are 2 diagnostic modes:
- Quick Test
About 1 minute, does random seek/read tests.
- Comprehensive Test
About 6 minutes, also performs surface scan.
* Runs only under DOS from a bootdisk. | Diagnostic Tool Ver.2.3 (For SCSI Hard Disk Drives) Sdiag_23.zip (359 KB) | This diagnostic tool is available for use by customers who feel their Fujitsu SCSI hard drive may not be operating normally. It is only designed for use with Fujitsu SCSI hard drives. There are 3 test modes:
- Quick Test
1 to 3 minutes, a basic operational test.
- Standard Test
20 to 25 minutes, also performs Read/Write test.
- Extended Test
30 to 70 minutes, also verify and surface test.
*Supports Windows NT/98/2000/2003/XP *Requires Adaptec's ASPI32 driver. |

UDMA UtilitiesSoftware Name | Description | UDMA Utility (For MPD, MPE, and MPF Series Hard Disk Drives) ata24.zip (8 KB) | The UDMA utility is designed to change the transfer mode of Fujitsu's MPD, MPE, and MPF series hard disk drives to pre-set transfer rate for compatible operation. Some motherboards cannot run the drive properly at the detected transfer rate. Flash UtilitySoftware Name | Description | Fujitsu HDD Flash Utility (For MPG3xxxAT Models) gen_upgrade101.exe (1.8 MB) White Paper White Paper (6 KB) | A utility to upgrade model MPG3102AT and MPG3204AT 5400 RPM IDE/ATA hard disk drivers only. This utility checks your system for applicable drives and will automatically update the firmware with a new version that can offer improved reliability in some systems.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Download the "gen_upgrade101" utility below to your hard disk drive. When download is complete, execute and then follow the on-screen instructions to create a floppy disk based firmware upgrade utility (1.44MB Floppy Diskette Required). |

This is only for the SCSI interface of these drives. The files available here are in Pkzip format. The files should be unZIPed before installation is attempted. |

Erase UtilitySoftware Name | Description | Fujitsu Erase Utility fjerase.zip (31 KB) | Note: This program works only with any FUJITSU IDE/ATA hard disk drives This procedure performs a pseudo-formatting to the drive. It erases all of your previous data and reinitializes it to "00" pattern. By performing this task, you will be able to erase the whole user area including your Master Boot Record, Partition Table, FAT (File Allocation Table), and all the files and data it refers to. Use this program if you want to be sure your drive is clean. Warning: All the previous data will be lost when performing the 'Erase' task. Please backup all your important files and data before running this program. |

Disk Manager®Software Name | Description | Ontrack® Disk Manager® Download and purchase from the Ontrack web site | Note: You do not need Disk Manager® if your BIOS recognizes the full drive capacity Disk Manager® is a dynamic drive overlay that allows you to override the drive settings from your BIOS setup. Disk Manager is made by Ontrack Computer, Inc. for Fujitsu hard disk drive products. It is available from their website for purchase. Please take the following steps: - Make sure the controller or BIOS has LBA mode enabled to gain the full capacity of the drive.
- If you do not have either an IDE/ATA controller or LBA mode support, leave it at the detected settings and run Disk Manager overlay.
